NASBLA and our project partners – the U.S. Coast Guard Office of Boat Forces, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the National Safe Boating Council – are pleased to announce another online training opportunity for officers. The first four modules of the foundational Boat Crew Member course can now be completed online. With this online offering, you can train on your schedule, at your own pace and on an individual basis. Successful completion of the BCM course will require completion of the remaining classroom modules and underway skill practice and verification with qualified NASBLA certified instructors.
This nationally standardized course curriculum provides students with the basic skills required to effectively function as boat crew members. It is geared toward marine law enforcement officers, first responders and others who support recreational boating safety and related maritime public safety missions. This online portion contains four units that focus on crew efficiency, team coordination, survival, and the Rules of the Road.
