The Alaska Office of Boating Safety has been named a two-time Bronze winner in the 36th Annual Telly Awards for its 2015 television spots for Alaska’s Pledge to Live social marketing campaign. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is a prestigious accomplishment.
Pledge to Live is a comprehensive integrated media campaign that uses the public health approach in social marketing to increase life jacket wear among Alaska’s boaters, and particularly adult males. The 2015 TV spots were developed and directed by the Alaska advertising firm Walsh|Sheppard, with the help of the Alaska Office of Boating Safety, the Alaska Channel, and various volunteers.
“We are excited to receive this recognition for our efforts to educate boaters on the importance of wearing life jackets when boating on Alaska’s cold water,” said Alaska’s boating law administrator, Jeff Johnson. “It’s an honor to share this award with Walsh|Sheppard, as we continue communicating these potentially lifesaving messages.”
